James is Chairman of Horizon and lead sales developer, he is a past Vice President of A.T.L.A.S (Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists) and more recently Chairman of the ATLAS Safety Committee and is IOSH certified. A keen Golfer and outdoor man he loves to unwind walking his dogs.

Paul Farn - Operations and Safety Director

Paul is Operations & Safety Director joining the company in 1994. He is IOSH certified and responsible for the Work at Height department. Actively involved in supporting the training and development of steeplejacks through the C.I.T.B. (Construction Industry Training Board) Paul is another avid Golfer and Football fan supporting Liverpool!

Louise  Kerry-Armes  - Business Director

Louise joined Horizon in 2003. Over the years her expertise has been gained within Recruitment, Engineering & the NHS. She is IOSH Certified and a Certified Internal Auditor, responsible for Compliance, HR and the Integrated Management Systems. She doesnt have any spare time thanks to her family, garden and dogs, but makes the most of holidays exploring new cities and countries around the world.

Leigh joined Horizon in 2007 after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham Trent University.Horizon sponsored Leigh to achieve his MSc and Chartered status, he is a BS EN 62305 certified Lightning Protection Designer, NEBOSH Certified and a Member of IOSH, in 2018 Leigh completed a EMBA At Nottingham Trent University and was appointed Managing Director of Horizon. Leigh has overall responsibility for business activity. Leigh loves playing and watching sports.

Gary joined us shortly after the business opened in 1993, initially as a lightning protection and steeplejack operative. Over the past 30 years he has undergone training and developed into the role of Technical Director with BS EN 62305 certification. Gary is very "hands on" and still loves to be on site involved in the work and liaising with the client although still finds time to switch off by riding his Superbike!

Adam Bradley - Business Development Manager

Adam joined us in 2007 after completing a Business Degree at De Montfort University, Leicester. Having progressed to Business Development Manager he is responsible for development of new and existing business and managing key accounts, and is often the first point of contact for many of our clients. He has been a keen Forest fan since his childhood, following them through thin and well more thin and then finally some thick !

Elizabeth has been with Horizon since 2008 and is the Senior Accounts Assistant, predominantly responsible for the weekly payroll, purchase invoices and credit control along with supporting the finance Manager in everyday accounting matters. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor of our Integrated Management System, ensuring that Horizon complies with all our Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety commitments. Michelle Rasen - Senior Contracts Co-Ordinator

Senior Contracts Co-Ordinator

Michelle joined us in December 2009. She is the Senior Contracts Co-Ordinator for the Steeplejack divison of the business. Her role at Horizon primarily involves the day-to-day planning and co-ordination of the working at height contracts, liasing with existing clients, and supporting the Operations and Safety Director in organising the training and development of the Steeplejack / Work at height Teams.

Sam has been with us since July 2013, working primarily in the Lightning Protection division of the business. Since joining Horizon, Sam has completed NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Business Administration.  Her spare time is spent going to the gym, visiting new cities and socialising.

Sam joined Horizon in 2006 and works primarily in the Lightning Protection division of the business, however over the years Sam has been heavily involved in the Fall arrest height safety/specialist access sides of the company too. Sam is a BS EN 62305 Accredited Lightning Protection system designer and has great knowledge of Horizons historical clients and gets heavily involved with specific large projects. Sam has also completed up to NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration and NVQ Level 2 in Team leader.

Megan joined the team in June 2016 on a business administration apprenticeship. In just this short space of time Megan has also shown talents in Sales and Marketing and has now taken on a key role in developing existing sales through our current client base whilst also looking at opportunities for new works. In 2020 Megan became a BS EN 62305 Accredited lightning protection system designer.

Chris is the most recent member to join the team at Horizon and does so in the role of Safety Systems Project Manager. Chris joins with great experience in a variety of project management roles and over the past few years a real expertise in the height safety industry. Chris likes to see a project through from start to finish and ensure his clients are completely satisfied from proposed design phase to completion of installation on site. 

Rebecca  Chadbourne - Business Administrator

Rebecca has been with Horizon since 2017 and has completed her NVQ Level II and III in Business Administration whilst with the company. Rebecca offers support to many departments of the business offering her a wide variety in her job role.

Richard joined the team in 2017 as Contract Manager for the Lightning Protection Teams based out of our Nottingham office. Rich has many years’ experience in the Lightning Protection Industry and also brings his CAD draftsman skill to the company. In his spare time, you can find him playing Football, golf, or on the shooting range.

Arrieanne joined Horizon in 2018 as an apprentice Administrator. Since then, she has completed her NVQ level III and has become a key member of the team. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and is also another keen Forest Fan. More recently Arrieanne has taken on a new role to train in Steeplejack and Chimney report writing under the guidance of James, Paul and Leigh and in August 2022 Arrieanne completed the IOSH Managing Safety certification.

James joined Horizon’s Lightning Protection team in early 2019 as a Contracts Manager for Special Projects.  James comes with a vast array of knowledge having worked his was up through the industry. Starting as a site operative and progressing to Contracts manager, James has studied hard and gained many qualifications along the way. Which alongside his valuable hands on site knowledge mean he is ideally placed to run all types of projects, small large and eveything in between.

John joins the team in a new role for Horizon to manage our ever-growing fleet of vehicles. John ensures all company vehicles are kept in great condition not only inline with legal requirements but also to ensure that when you see them out and about around the country they are well maintained and promote the company in the correct manner.

Kate joined in mid 2020 in the role of report writer. This is predominantly on the height safety team but Kate will also work with the Lightning Protection department in this job role. Kate is already helping to provide administrative support to key height safety accounts and is fast becoming a key point of contact for specific clients. In August 2022 Kate completed the IOSH Managing Safety certification.Kate enjoys baking, knitting and eating out.

Michelle joined Horizon in the summer of 2021, joining as part of our expanding admin team at Head office. Michelle comes to us having spent several years in the childcare sector and looking for a career change and a new challenge.

Lauren Joined Horizon in late 2022 in the role of Apprentice Business Administrator, she has previously administration experience from her time working in the motor industry and will be undertaking and NVQ Business Qualification with us.  

David  Edwards  - Technical Surveyor

David joined Horizon in mid 2023 as an additional Technical Surveyor for the business. Dave will be attending sites carrying our surveys and inspections of Masts, Towers, Flagpoles, Fixed Ladders and many other safety critical and wind sensitive assets. Dave joins Horizon with a wealth of engineering knowledge. When he’s not inspecting flagpoles or masts Dave loves to spend time with his dogs and mountain biking all over the UK.

Tony has been a Lightning Protection Engineer for over 40 years, his hands on knowledge in the Lightning Protection Sector is vast and incredibly valuable. In the past 5 years Tony has taken up the role of Warehouse operative and PPE equipment inspector. Tonys role is critical to the Business ensuring all PPE is inspected and certified fit for use.
